The sister of a a woman who disappeared four weeks ago has described the experience as "absolutely horrendous".

The family of Janet McQueen visited a police incident room to see the work officers are doing as part of the search.

Ms McQueen, 58, was last seen leaving her home in Langside Road, Govanhill, around 10pm on Tuesday, October 18.

She does not have her beloved pet dog with her and did not take money or her mobile phone.

Ms McQueen, who is fairly well known in the area, is described as white, 5ft, of slim build with short black hair.

She was wearing glasses, a navy blue anorak and dark coloured trousers.

Members of Ms McQueen's family visited the incident room at Cathcart Police Office on Tuesday, four weeks after she disappeared.

Police told the family they have looked through more than 280 hours of CCTV and had 30 possible sightings of Ms McQueen during the inquiry.

Fiona Kilcoyne said: "It's been absolutely horrendous. As weeks go by, obviously the concern grows for the safety of Janet.

"It's totally out of character for Janet to disappear, she had a very rigid routine that she carried out daily.

"And for her not to be, no sightings or whatever, is just out of character, totally out of character.

As each day goes by you worry more. The most important thing is that she's found, whatever the circumstances may be - just that she's found, that's the main thing

"If anyone knows anything at all, please, please get in touch with the police. No matter how trivial you think it is, just get in touch with the police."
