Dog walkers sought after RBS cash machine blown up in robbery
Police have urged the two men to come forward after the raid in Langholm on Friday.
Two dog walkers have been urged to come forward after a cash machine was blown up during a robbery at an RBS branch.
A loud bang was heard near the bank in Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway, at around 1.40am on Friday.
Police found the bank's security had been breached and the ATM had been stolen.
They later found a green Land Rover burning on the B6318 about three miles south of Skippers Bridge in Langholm.
A vehicle matching that description was seen near the bank around the time of the robbery.
Officers believe two dog walkers seen near the bank around the time of the robbery can help with the probe. They have appealed for the two men to come forward.
The first man is described as 5ft 10in, 50 to 60, wearing a mid-length blue jacket.
The second dog walker is described as 5ft 10in, 50 to 60 years, wearing a black jacket, light grey trousers and with a small black dog on a lead.
A police statement read: "Police in Dumfries and Galloway are looking to speak to two men who are seen walking their dog through Langholm town centre about half past midnight on Friday, shortly before the cash machine was broken into at the Royal Bank of Scotland.
"The men are seen to walk north on the High Street, on the opposite side to the bank from area of the town hall towards the direction of the bridge leading to Thomas Telfer Road.
"The men may have pertinent information relating to the cash machine theft, although they may be unaware of this.
"If this is you, or you know the identities of the males, please contact the police on 101."
