A man has plunged from a hotel window outside Glasgow Central Station.

Police and emergency services were called to the scene in the city centre at around 11.30am on Friday.

A major police presence was put in place on Gordon Street with several cars and vans as well as ambulance vehicles.

It is understood the man was naked fell from a third or fourth floor window of the building and landed on a table below. The extent of the man's injuries are not yet known.

A police spokeswoman said: "Police Scotland can confirm emergency services are in attendance after a man fell from a window in Gordon Street, Glasgow. There are no details on injuries and the man is being taken to the QEUH.

"Gordon Street and the main entrance to the station is closed - entry should be sought via Union Street and Hope Street."
