A CCTV image has been released of two men police want to trace over a serious assault in a Glasgow pub.

A 48-year-old man needed hospital treatment for a facial injury after the incident in the Allison Arms on Pollokshaws Road in the south side of the city.

Detectives said it was "crucial" they traced those responsible for the violent attack.

They believe the two men pictured in the CCTV picture will be able to help them with inquiries.

Detective constable Paul MacDonald said on Wednesday: "This incident has left a man seriously injured.

"Those drinking within the pub were also shocked at the level of violence displayed that evening. It is crucial we trace those responsible."

The first man is described as being in his 20s, with a large build and short dark hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a red T-shirt.

The second man also has dark hair. He is believed to be in his 50s and at the time of the incident he was wearing a blue polo shirt under a dark jacket.

The incident took place after the victim got involved in an altercation at around 9.30pm on Sunday, May 21.
