Eighteen Rangers fans in hospital after supporters bus crash
Three seriously injured after crash on A76 near Mauchline, Ayrshire on Saturday.
Eighteen Rangers fans have been taken to hospital after a supporters bus crashed on the way to Ibrox.
The crash, leaving three people seriously injured, happened on the A76 near Mauchline, Ayrshire, at around 1.15pm on Saturday.
Several ambulances, five fire engines and a number of specialist officers were called out to deal with the incident. One passenger said the bus "swerved" at the roundabout.
The vehicle landed on its side on a grass verge.
A total 18 people were taken to hospital and medical staff have confirmed that three people are in a serious condition. There were 36 people, plus the driver, on board the coach.
The crash happened at Crossroads roundabout near Bowhouse Prison. Rangers are playing Partick Thistle at home on Saturday.
Inspector Darren Faulds, Road Policing Unit, said: "Enquiries are ongoing to establish the cause of the crash and anyone with any information is asked to call road policing officers at Irvine Police Office on 101."
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said it has multiple units from across Ayrshire in attendance, as well as a heavy rescue vehicle from Easterhouse.
