Drivers face seven-mile queue as car crashes into M8 barrier
A 38-year-old man driving a Jaguar was taken to hospital after the crash on Thursday morning.
Motorists on one of Scotland's busiest motorways faced queues of around seven-miles after an early morning crash.
A Jaguar crashed into the barrier of the bridge at junction 18 of the M8 heading eastbound around 5.45am on Thursday.
Tailbacks were reported as far back as Glasgow Airport and Paisley with one lane of the motorway closed for repairs.
Traffic Scotland's website stated: "M8 Eastbound between junctions 18 to 17 restricted due to a barrier damage.
"Road user are advised to use caution on approach."
Police Scotland confirmed the driver of the Jaguar, a 38-year-old man, was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to his injuries which were said to be minor.
No other vehicles were involved in the incident however the Jaguar has now been removed from the scene.
It is not yet known when the section of road will reopen.
