Man seriously ill after being hit by taxi in city centre
The 48-year-old man was knocked down in the early hours of Sunday in Glasgow.
A pedestrian is seriously injured in hospital after being hit by a taxi in Glasgow city centre.
The 48-year-old man was walking on Clyde Street in the early hours of Sunday when the incident happened.
Police said they were called at around 12.45am to a with a report of a pedestrian having being struck by a black hackney cab..
Emergency services went to the scene and the man was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment to a serious head injury.
He has since been transferred to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Sergeant Stuart Bell said: "There will have been people heading home from nights out in the city centre around the time of this incident and I would appeal for any witnesses to get in touch.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Govan on 101."
