Police are growing concerned for a vulnerable elderly man who has gone missing in East Dunbartonshire.

Henry Patterson, who suffers from dementia, was last seen walking on Rannoch Avenue towards Laggan Road in Bishopbriggs at around 12pm on Monday.

Police said there was "particular concern" as he does not normally leave his house alone and has never been missing for this length of time.

The 83-year-old is described as white, around 5ft 8in in height, of slim build and has thinning white hair. He is described as having a ruddy complexion and a prominent nose.

He was last seen wearing a brown fleece, grey trousers and he may having been wearing a flat cap.

He is also believed to be in possession of a pipe. He may be walking at a slow pace with a stoop and may appear confused.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police at Kirkintilloch urgently via 101.
