A girl has been taken to hospital after being knocked off her bicycle by a car in the west end of Glasgow.

Paramedics were called out to Hyndland Road shortly after 5pm following reports of a child being struck by a vehicle.

The youngster was taken to hospital in a "stable condition".

No other details of injuries were available.

A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesman said: "We received multiple calls shortly after 5pm this evening to a road traffic accident on Hyndland Road.

"The paramedic response unit and an ambulance were dispatched.

"We've conveyed a young child to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in a stable condition."
