An investigation has been launched after a body was found in a Glasgow close.

Emergency services were called to Boyd Street in Govanhill shortly before 7am on Thursday.

On arrival they discovered the body of a 26-year-old man in a common close.

The death is being treated as unexplained and the man's relatives have been informed.

A police spokesman said a post-mortem will be carried out and a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal.

Officers were still conducting enquiries at the scene on Thursday afternoon, he added.
