Death of man after fight outside flats treated as murder
The 23-year-old victim died after a late-night disturbance on Belville Street in Greenock.
The death of a man after a fight outside flats is being treated as murder by detectives.
The 23-year-old victim was found by police seriously injured in the street in Greenock, Inverclyde, but died at the scene shortly after.
Officers were called to reports of an altercation on Belville Street at around 11.20pm on Wednesday. They are treating the death as murder.
Detective inspector Alan McAlpine, of Police Scotland's Major Investigation Team, said: "We are currently trying to establish the events leading up to the disturbance in Belville Street which ultimately resulted in the death of this young man.
"It is vital that we speak to anyone who was in the vicinity of Belville Street around 11.20pm last night and may have witnessed activity there, or perhaps seen the suspect or suspects running off."
