Man suffers head injuries after attack by two men in 4x4
The 35-year-old was assaulted in Glenmavis, North Lanarkshire, at 2pm on Tuesday.
A man suffered head injuries after an attack by two men who made off in a 4x4.
The 35-year-old victim was approached as he walked along a lane from Kirkstyle Place leading towards Coatbridge Road in Glenmavis, North Lanarkshire, at 2pm on Tuesday.
The pair seriously assaulted him before driving off towards Airdrie.
The victim was taken to Monklands General District hospital to be treated for head injuries.
Police said the first man is white, 35 to 40, with red hair and was shirtless.
The second man is described as white with closely shaven black hair. He was wearing orange shorts and a white T-shirt.
The 4x4 was black with black alloy wheels.
Detective constable Thomas Kiernan of Coatbridge Police Office said: "This was an unprovoked attack in a residential area and these men must be caught.
"Enquiries are ongoing to trace the two men responsible and the black vehicle involved.
"Officers are currently viewing CCTV images to gather more information and have been carrying out enquiries in the area."
"I would urge anyone who witnessed this attack, or who saw these two men, or the vehicle in the local area around the time of the incident to contact Coatbridge Police Office on 101."
