Colin Davies died in blaze in Milngavie, which also left his wife and son in hospital.
Thousands of pounds have been raised after a man died in a fire which has left his wife and son homeless.
Colin Davies, 45, died in the blaze in the family home in Catter Gardens, Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, in the early hours of Sunday
His wife Catherine, 42, and their 11-year-old son Joel, managed to escape with the help of firefighters at the weekend.
Mrs Davies is understood to be in a stable condition while her son is not thought to have suffered serious injuries.
The family home has been left extensively damaged and their possessions inside destroyed.
Now, friends and members of the local community have donated almost £4000 for Mrs Davies and her son after two online fundraising pages were created.
A Gofundme page has already received £2345 in donations for the family and says: "We are looking to raise money for Catherine and Joel from Mains Estate, Milngavie, who have lost everything in a tragic house fire, including a beloved husband and father who will be sadly missed by us all.
"The money raised will help go towards clothing and necessities needed, this will help rebuild from what has been damaged and lost.
"Catherine is a beautiful soul and would do anything for anyone, she's always putting others first. Please help, your contributions will be greatly appreciated."
Another fundraising page has reached £1545 and says: "You may have seen or heard in the news a local Glasgow family have been left with nothing in a recent house fire.
"Joel is only 11 and due to start high school on Wednesday and his mother has MS. Life as you can imagine is going to be so much more difficult for them now.
"The dream would be to rebuild their family home but If we can help to buy them clothes and basic living necessities its a small first step to help them when they leave hospital. Keep them in your thoughts and prayers."
Mr Davies' cousin, Marge Caldwell-Wilson, who emigrated from Glasgow to the US and is a councillor in New Jersey, said: "I'm still waiting to hear back from the family to see how his wife and son are doing.
"I'm waiting to see when I can get a plane ticket and come over there.
"Colin worked for the community and he was a wonderful father and husband. His wife Catherine had MS and he would take good care of her.
"He was very kind. My heart is broken right now. Colin was an exemplary role model for anybody as far as being a father and husband is concerned."
