Man suffers injuries to head and back after attack on street
The 33-year-old was targeted near Parkhead Cross in Glasgow on Wednesday night.
A man was left with cuts to his head and back after being attacked "for no apparent reason" in a Glasgow street.
The 33-year-old was assaulted by two men on Westmuir Street near Parkhead Cross in the east end of the city on at about 7.20pm on Wednesday night.
Police Scotland said the victim was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary for treatment, while they are gathering CCTV in the area in an effort to trace the attackers.
Detective constable Eilidh Marshall said: "This is normally a busy area with people and traffic so I'm sure there were people around at the time of the incident.
"A young man has been attacked for no apparent reason and we need to find out why this happened. I am appealing to anyone who was in the area around the time of the attack to contact us with any information which could assist in progressing our enquiries."
Both of the attackers are described as between 30 to 40 years old.
Police said one man is around 5ft 6in, with a dark beard. He was wearing a dark fleece jacket, dark jeans and navy boots. There is currently no information on the second man.
Following the attack, both suspects ran off towards Crail Street.
