Sailors tread water for an hour after abandoning burning boat
Two men suffered hypothermia as a result of the incident in Luce Bay, off the Galloway Coast.
Four sailors forced to abandon their burning boat had to tread water for more than hour as they awaited rescue.
The men jumped into the sea from the vessel in Luce Bay, off the Galloway Coast, on Saturday night.
They had to tread water for over an hour without life jackets before the alarm was raised by a passer-by.
Members of the Stranraer RNLI lifeboat team pulled the men from the sea and took them to Galloway Community Hospital.
Two of the men were suffering from hypothermia but all four were released from hospital on Sunday.
A spokesman for Stranraer RNLI said: "Stranraer lifeboat launched at Stairhaven and recovered four casualties from the water. They were transported to Galloway Community Hospital."
