Bus driver arrested over 'homophobic remarks to passengers'
The incident allegedly occurred on a McGill's bus in Glasgow.
A bus driver has been arrested by police after being accused of shouting homophobic abuse at two young passengers.
Two 20-year-old male passengers were travelling on a McGill's bus in Glasgow on Friday June 10 when the incident is alleged to have occurred.
It is claimed that the driver swore at the couple, before barring them from the bus.
Police Scotland confirmed a 46-year-old man was arrested under laws relating to homophobic offences.
A spokesperson said: "We can confirm that on the 17th June a 46-year-old man was arrested in connection with an alleged offence under section 38 of the Criminal Justice and Licensing Act 2010 which is alleged to have occurred in Peat Road, in Pollok, on June 10.
"A report will be sent to the procurator fiscal."
The young couple are reported to have endured the bus journey, before confronting the driver as they alighted from the bus.
The pair were then prevented from boarding a bus a few days later by the same driver, it is claimed.
