Carer faces hearing over 'dirty Muslim' Facebook post
Yvonne Maclean, 58, from East Kilbride, could be struck off after alleged racist remarks.
A carer at a nursing home could be struck off over a series of allegedly racist rants on Facebook.
Yvonne Maclean, 58, from East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire, is said to have posted comments "of a racist nature on your page of social networking site Facebook and you did fail to remove these".
She was sacked as a senior care assistant from Bupa's Wyndford Locks nursing home in Glasgow after a post in April 2014 which included the phrase "dirty, clattie Muslim".
One of the online messages is also alleged to have said "get everyone of these ... out of our country even the ones who claim they are peaceful don't believe any of them".
Ms Maclean faces a number of charges before the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) and a hearing will be heard over three days next week.
One charge states that between November 2, 2010 and April 23, 2013, she made "inappropriate comments of a racist nature" to a colleague.
It claims Ms Maclean said to the individual in reference to another: "People like you become racist because of people like him".
It is claimed she also said to a colleague "you need to watch what you say here, they report you" in a raised voice so that others overheard it.
The SSSC conduct committee will consider whether or not the charge is proven and if so it warrants her being struck off.
