Massive delays on M8 after lorry overturns on motorway
The incident happened shortly before 6am on Friday near junction 8 at Ballieston.
Motorists experienced major rush hour delays after a lorry overturned on the M8.
The crash near Junction 8 at Ballieston caused serious congestion in and around Glasgow city centre.
Firefighters cut the man who was driving the lorry free from the wreckage of the vehicle after it collided with the central reservation on the eastbound carriageway at 5.55am on Friday.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue said 15 firefighters attended the smash on the motorway.
A spokesman added: "The firefighters worked to cut the driver free paramedics assessed his condition and he was taken to Monklands Hospital by ambulance after being safely released."
The outside lane eastbound reopened at 8.30am and the westbound route was also affected for a short time.
