Police Scotland are asking for the public's assistance in relation to the disappearance of a 42-year-old man from Glasgow.

William Rennie, known as Billy, was last seen on Sunday May 15 on West George Street in the city centre.

Mr Rennie, from Leyden Street in Maryhill, is described as 5ft 8in tall with a heavy build, short brown hair and brown eyes. He is usually clean shaven but may have stubble at this time.

At the time of his disappearance he was wearing navy blue jogging bottoms, a grey camouflage body warmer with a green hooded top underneath, a dark coloured woolly hat, white and grey running trainers and red headphones.

Mr Rennie requires regular medication and has been known to have gone missing before. It is not known if he has any of his medication with him and officers are growing increasingly concerned for his safety.

Sergeant Gary Kelly from Shettleston police office said: "Extensive enquiries have been under way in Glasgow to trace Billy safe and well. However, all attempts to locate him have so far proved unsuccessful.

"Given that Billy requires regular medication, we are concerned for his well-being and just want to know that he is safe and well.

"If anyone has any information or knowledge regarding his whereabouts I would appeal to them to pass that information onto police.

"His family is extremely worried for him and just want him back safe and well."

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at Baird Street Police Office on the non-emergency number, 101.
