A listed building has been gutted after a fire torn through it on Friday evening.

Emergency crews were called to a "well developed" blaze at Scotway House on Castlebank Street, in Glasgow, at around 9pm.

The building sits next to the River Clyde and Riverside Museum in the west end of the city.

A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: "Four appliances attended a well-developed fire in the first floor of an unoccupied building adjacent to Castlebank Street in Glasgow.

"On arrival firefighters were met by a well-developed challenging fire that they quickly brought under control by external firefighting using two ground monitors and one height appliance.

"Firefighters will remain at the scene for sometime."

No one was injured as a result of the blaze.

The area around Glasgow Harbour is currently undergoing development as part of a major commercial regeneration plan.

Scotway House, a class B listed building, was built in 1885 as an office for marine engineering and shipbuilding company David and William Henderson and Co.
