Man held after 160 cannabis plants worth £98,000 seized

A man has been arrested after 160 cannabis plants worth almost £100,000 were seized by police.
Officers executed a warrant and raided a flat in Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire, on Thursday afternoon.
They recovered a large cannabis cultivation worth £98,000 from the property on Cedar Road at 5.30pm.
A man has been arrested over the seizure and is expected to appear at Airdrie Sheriff Court on Monday.
A statement from Police Scotland said: "Approximately 160 cannabis plants with an estimated street value of £98,000 were discovered within the property.
"A man has been arrested and detained in police custody in connection with alleged drugs offences."
Inspector Philip Rose from Cumbernauld Police Office said: "Drugs can have a devastating impact on communities and the support of local people is essential to helping officers target offenders.
"I would continue to ask members of the Cumbernauld community, who have any information about the supply of controlled drugs or other suspicious activity, to contact officers via 101."
