Mystery Scots lottery winner claims £1m EuroMillions prize
Lucky punter from Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, comes forward after appeal.
A mystery Scots lottery winner has claimed a £1m EuroMillions prize and dream holiday to the US.
An appeal was launched last week after five players won a guaranteed £1m plus holiday but one of the winners from the draw, who bought their ticket in Kilmarnock, East Ayrshire, had yet to claim the prize.
The lucky punter finally claimed the EuroMillions Millionaire Maker prize from March 25 on Monday.
A National Lottery spokesman said: "We're delighted that the winner of this amazing prize has now come forward and we hope that they will enjoy their win.
"It would have been awful if the ticket-holder had missed out on this substantial and life-changing amount of money. We would like to remind all National Lottery players to check their tickets every time they play."
Every week EuroMillions UK Millionaire Maker guarantees to create two millionaires - one on Tuesday and one on Friday - but with the EuroMillions Mega Friday draws, multiple players win a guaranteed £1m plus a once in a lifetime prize.
For every EuroMillions line played, UK players automatically receive a UK Millionaire Maker code printed on their ticket.
