Man taken to hospital after seven-hour stand-off with police
The man was threatening to self-harm at a flat on Old Shettleston Road in Glasgow.
A man has been taken to hospital after a seven-hour stand off with police in the east end of Glasgow.
Officers received reports of a disturbance at the property on Old Shettleston Road around 4.35pm on Thursday and arrived to find the man alone in his flat.
Negotiators were called to the scene to talk with the man while other emergency services, including ambulances and fire engines, arrived.
At 11.30pm, the man left the flat and was taken to hospital where Police Scotland said he would be assessed.
A police statement said: "Around 4.35pm on April 14, police received report of a disturbance at a flat on Old Shettleston Road in Glasgow.
"Upon arrival a man refused them entry to the flat and was threatening to self harm.
"Emergency services were in attendance and police negotiators were speaking to the man who was alone in the property. No one was injured.
"At 11.30pm the same day the man came out of the flat and was taken to hospital for assessment."
