Remains found in park are those of missing John Murphy
The father of five was last seen near his home in Dennistoun, Glasgow, in May 2015.
Remains found at waterworks in a public park have been identified as a man who has been missing for almost a year.
John Murphy, who was 52, was last seen near his home in Dennistoun, Glasgow, in May 2015.
A widespread search was launched for the father-of-five but despite possible sightings in June and July of last year efforts to find Mr Murphy proved fruitless.
On Wednesday, police confirmed the remains found in Mugdock Country Park on March 15 had been identified as those of Mr Murphy.
A post-mortem examination has taken place and the death is not being treated as suspicious, a spokeswoman said.
Mr Murphy's family has been informed and a report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
