Driver airlifted to hospital after lorry overturns on M74
Diversions remain in place on the southbound carriageway as police investigate.
A lorry driver has been airlifted to hospital after crashing on the hard shoulder of the M74.
The incident happened at around 4pm on the southbound carriageway at junction eight near Larkhall in South Lanarkshire.
The lorry overturned and it is believed the driver took ill at the wheel of the vehicle.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Monday afternoon and both parts of the M74 were closed while an air ambulance landed.
Police said diversions remain in place for the southbound carriageway while officers investigate.
