Teenagers armed with baseball bats arrested outside high school
Incident in Newarthill, North Lanarkshire, follows violent attack at same location last month.
A pair of teenagers have been arrested after they appeared outside a school armed with baseball bats.
Police were called to the incident outside Brannock High school in Newarthill, North Lanarkshire, on Friday.
A police spokesman said: "Around 2.55pm, police responded to a report of two 15-year-old boys appearing outside the school on Loanhead Road, Newarthill in possession of weapons.
"Two 15-year-old boys have been arrested and a report has been sent sent to the Scottish Children's Reporter Administration."
The arrests follow an attack in on January 19 at the same school. A pupil needed hospital treatment after two teenagers not connected to the school entered the building and attacked him.
