Rangers have announced that Ryan Jack has extended his contract at Ibrox.

The midfielder's existing contract was due to expire in 2020 but he has signed a new deal keeping him at Ibrox for at least another year with Steven Gerrard's side.

The 26-year old had moved to Ibrox in 2017 from Aberdeen, where he was club captain. He's played 24 times under Gerrard this season.

Jack said he the new deal was a "no-brainer" as he is currently relishing playing under new boss Gerrard after an injury-plagued season last time out.

He said: "You go through some hard times but it's just the drive and determination that I had to make sure that when I did get back fit I'd be in the manager thoughts and thankfully I have done that.

"I'm probably enjoying my football the most I ever have.

"I'm at a great club, we get 50,000 at every home game and a great backing away from home.

"We have a great coaching staff and I'm working with a great group of players."

Rangers lost their grip on top spot for the second time in a matter of weeks after drawing at Hibs earlier this week.

Jack insisted the Ibrox club's ambitions remain unaltered from the start of the campaign.

He added: "When we spoke at the start of the season we said we wanted to win silverware together and be recognised as a successful Rangers team.

"That hasn't changed, there are still two trophies to play for between now and the end of the season.

"If we stay focused we have a good chance."
