Celtic midfielder Olivier Ntcham pens new four-year deal
The French playmaker has extended his contract until 2022 with the Parkhead club.
Olivier Ntcham has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal with Celtic.
The extension prolongs the French midfielder's stint at Parkhead until at least the summer of 2022.
Ntcham has become a key performer for Brendan Rodgers' side since joining from Man City last summer.
Across 68 appearances, the 22-year-old has scored 14 times, including a goal in the Scottish Cup final against Motherwell as Celtic clinched the Double Treble.
Ntcham's displays had seen him linked with a move away from Glasgow but the playmaker has opted to extend his stay in Scotland.
He said that Thursday's Europa League win over RB Leipzig demonstrated that he had made the right decision.
"When I watched the RB Leipzig game I was really proud of my team and we won in the end so I was very happy," he said.
"I expect Celtic to qualify for the knock-out stages because I think we can challenge RB Leipzig and Salzburg.
"I want to score more goals than last year, I want to win more trophies and go far in the Europa League."
Ntcham also opened up on his international future. The midfielder, who was born in Longjumeau, France, to parents of Cameroonian descent, has played for France at youth level up to the current Under-21 team.
With Cameroon now managed by Clarence Seedorf, the African nation is looking to bring a number of new players into the international fold, including the Celtic star.
However, Ntcham said he was in no hurry to switch allegiances and would talk over a change if the situation arose.
"When you make an important decision like that you have to take your time," he said.
"I want to take (my) time.
"I am playing for France now. We have a tournament at the end of this season (Under-21s Euro Championships in Italy) so that is what I am focused on.
"I am focused on the pitch and if I have to make a decision I will speak with my family and agent."
