Rodgers tips Forrest to take game to next level for Celtic
The Hoops boss hailed winger James Forrest's progression over the last two seasons.
Brendan Rodgers hailed James Forrest's "fantastic" contribution for Celtic, before insisting the winger still has plenty time to take his game to another level.
Forrest has been named Premiership Player of the Month for October after playing an instrumental role as the Hoops hit 15 goals across three league wins.
The Scotland international found the net five times across October, including four first-half goals as Celtic thrashed St Johnstone 6-0.
Rodgers, who has picked up the monthly award for top boss, hailed Forrest's continued development since he took over as Parkhead boss two years ago.
He said: "His level of performance over the last couple of years has been fantastic.
"You can see he is getting better all the time.
"He's a really efficient player now, in terms of his ability to create and score goals.
"He really understands the concept of the team defensively.
"He's a joy to work with. He trains every single day, is really focused and super professional.
"You have to give him huge credit, he's taken on board what we want him to do but he has to deliver that."
Asked if Forrest can develop his game further, Rodgers added: "You can always improve, he's 27 so he has many years ahead of him.
"He's not even at his best, over the next few years I think you'll see him get better and better.
"For James, it's always about consistency. If you look at his consistency over the last couple of years, he has been working at a really high level so I'm delighted for him."
