Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers has been named Premiership Manager of the Month for October, while winger James Forrest has scooped up the player's award.

Rodgers' side rediscovered their shooting boots across the month, scoring 15 goals as they won their three league matches.

Forrest was instrumental throughout. The winger fired in four goals in the first-half of the 6-0 demolition of St Johnstone and also scored in the 5-0 win over Dundee last time out.

The Dens Park rout also brought about Rodgers' 100th win in charge of the Hoops and saw the champions cut the gap at the top to Hearts to four points.

Celtic suffered disappointment in Europe during October, losing twice, but progressed to the League Cup final by thrashing the Jam Tarts 3-0 to continue their domestic run of invincibility in cup competitions.
