Celtic pair Eboue Kouassi and Daniel Arzani are likely out for the season after sustaining cruciate ligament injuries, says manager Brendan Rodgers.

Kouassi limped off during the first half of the Hoops' 3-0 League Cup semi-final win over Hearts after falling awkwardly early in the match.

Scans confirmed the Ivorian suffered cruciate ligament damage to his knee, with his season over as a result.

Arzani came off the bench to make his Celtic debut in the 5-0 rout of Dundee on Wednesday.

But the Australian playmaker had to be stretchered off after catching his studs in the turf.

Initial scans have indicated Arzani has suffered the same serious knee injury as Kouassi, with the extent of the damage to be confirmed during further analysis next week.

Rodgers said: "We're just waiting on the final analysis of the scans but it's unfortunate.

"It looks like this week we'll have had two cruciate injuries in terms of young Daniel and Eboue Kouassi.

"If it is the case it would rule them both out for the rest of the season.

"Hugely disappointing for both boys because they have been on the sidelines and in the last week had been given opportunities."
