Ferguson heads late winner as Aberdeen defeat Rangers
The teenage midfielder headed home to book the Dons' spot in the League Cup final.
Lewis Ferguson headed home a late winner as Aberdeen beat Rangers to reach the League Cup final.
The Dons defended resolutely to keep the Light Blues at bay before taking their chance when it came in the 79th minute.
Rangers dominated possession for long spells at Hampden but without first-choice strikers Alfredo Morelos and Kyle Lafferty lacked the cutting edge to find the net.
Steven Gerrard's side had looked the more likely to open the scoring during a frenetic first half, which was stopped for eight minutes at its halfway point when Dons defender Andy Considine suffered a bad head knock.
After the interval, Rangers continued to turn the screw but again couldn't find a breakthrough.
And they were made to pay ten minutes from time when teenage midfielder Ferguson rose highest at a corner to head home a dramatic winner.
Aberdeen will now face Celtic in the League Cup final for the second time in three years.
