Ryan Porteous and Fraser Murray extend Hibs contracts
The academy graduates have both extended their Easter Road deals until 2023
Ryan Porteous and Fraser Murray have put pen to paper on new contracts with Hibs.
The academy graduates, who are mentored by Scottish tennis star Andy Murray, have both signed deals that extend their Easter Road stay until at least the summer of 2023.
Porteous and Murray, both 19, played key roles as Hibs won the Development League in 2017/18.
Over the last two years the pair have also made their mark in Neil Lennon's first team.
Centre-half Porteous has 23 appearances to his name, including outings during Hibs' Europa League matches this season, while attacking midfielder Murray has played nine times for the senior side.
Porteous told Hibs' website: "I am pleased to have signed a long-term deal with the club. It is the best place for me to be at this moment in time.
"I'm really looking forward to the next stage in my career and continuing my development here."
Head coach Lennon added: "Both of the players have shown they can handle the first team environment when I have put them into the team.
"I have been impressed with the maturity of them both in terms of their performances and attitudes in training and I am delighted they see their future with the club."
Earlier this year, Andy Murray was appointed as a mentor for young footballers at Hibs.
The tennis star, whose grandad played for the Easter Road outfit in the 1950s, works with prospects at the club's academy to help them reach their potential.
Porteous and Fraser Murray are also represented by Murray's sports management agency.
The Wimbledon champion said: "It's great to be involved in helping them both realise their potential, I'm convinced both will go on to have great careers."
