Football Talk: Griffiths latest, Rangers injuries
Your daily round-up of what's happening across Scottish football and beyond.
It hasn't quite reached Steven Fletcher proportions but the situation between Leigh Griffiths and the Scotland management is already cause for concern.
The Celtic hitman pulled out of the squad to face Israel and Portugal yesterday, saying he needed to build his fitness for the rest of the season.
Was it a problem? Not according to Scotland assistant coach Peter Grant who said Griffiths had everyone's support and insisted it was "certainly not a huff".
Scotland's other assistant coach James McFadden then suggested it was, saying he had never pulled out of a squad except when injured and admitting that when he wasn't picked for Scotland he would sulk.
Griffiths then elaborated on his earlier statement insisting he still wanted to play for Scotland and would come back stronger and fitter.
While McLeish said he had told Griffiths there were "no guarantees" of an immediate return.
All clear then and just what everyone needs ahead of a competitive game.
Two players who are injured and will miss games for their countries might give Steven Gerrard concern. Rangers duo Nikola Katic and Borna Barisic have both been ruled out of action for Croatia teams and there's no word on the extent of the issues.
And Scottish FA chief executive Ian Maxwell has responded to Stewart Milne's calls for talks about the state of the game, saying he would be happy to have a discussion. Maxwell also pointed out that Aberdeen were represented on the governing body's Professional Game Board, who would deal with any issues raised.
