Craig Levein has said he believes Hearts are ready to arrest their poor form in Glasgow this season, starting at Ibrox on Sunday.

The Jam Tarts picked up just two points from a possible 18 on offer from their six trips along the M8 last campaign.

This weekend, Levein's table toppers visit Rangers, who have been free-scoring of late in Govan and remain undefeated at home under Steven Gerrard's watch.

Levein said while the Light Blues' formidable form on their own patch must be taken into account, he's confident of returning to Edinburgh with points in the bag.

He said: "From our point of view, I'd rather the game was at Tynecastle but it's not.

"We're in good form and are ready and capable of going through to Glasgow and getting points.

"I think it will be a great game and am hopeful we can do enough to come out on top."

Levein, who revealed forward Uche Ikpeazu faces a late fitness test, added: "We have faced a number of tests, some we were strong favourites and some when we were not.

"The pleasing thing is that everything that has been presented we've managed to deal with, I'm hopeful we can do the same on Sunday.

"Taking into account, of course, that Rangers' home form is the best in the league and they had another fantastic result in Europe last night."

Levein vented his ire towards the SPFL last week following their decision to host both League Cup semi-finals at Hampden on the same day.

That call has now been reversed, with Hearts facing Celtic at Murrayfield instead on Sunday October 28.

Hoops manager Brendan Rodgers questioned the neutrality of the home of Scottish rugby as venue for the tie, but Levein dismissed that assertion.

Asked if he felt Murrayfield was neutral, Levein said: "Yes, I'd think so.

"It depends what you mean by neutral of course, when it comes to playing in big competitions then Hampden is not a neutral venue is it because some teams get there a lot more than others.

"We've never disputed whether Hampden is a neutral venue so I can't understand the question over Murrayfield."
