Football Talk: Scots sweat over Cairney, SPFL seal TV deal
Your daily round-up of what's happening across Scottish football and beyond.
Tom Cairney's omission from Alex McLeish's latest Scotland squad has left the SFA to sweat.
Fulham informed the Scots their skipper was unavailable for selection this time around, amid speculation he's on Gareth Southgate's England radar.
Cairney has only recently returned to fitness after injury and was deemed not yet up to speed for international duty.
His withdrawal has left the door ajar for the Nottingham-born playmaker to make a surprise switch, though, with McLeish admitting Scotland are currently "vulnerable" to losing Cairney.
While Cairney misses out, Leigh Griffiths is back in contention to start despite McLeish revealing the Celtic attacker has been blanking his calls.
Johnny Russell is also gunning for a start after impressing for Kansas City. It's not just the ex-Dundee United winger's displays on the park that have caught the eye Stateside, but also a "Russelmania" tifo in his honour that supporters recently unveiled.
Elsewhere, the SPFL are said to have sealed a TV deal that will see Scottish football screened across the globe.
