Jamie Murray toasted an "awesome week" in Cincinnati after the Scot claimed his first Masters 1000 title.

The Scot and Brazilian Bruno Soares defeated Juan Sebastian Cabal and Robert Farah 4-6 6-3 10-6 to win their maiden ATP Tour Masters trophy on Sunday.

Murray, 32, and Soares, 36, have now picked up two doubles titles this month, having won the Washingston Open a fortnight ago.

The doubles specialists have won nine tour-level titles since pairing up in 2016, including the Australian Open and US Open.

Murray described their most recent success as "really exciting" given the calibre of opposition they faced on their route to the title.

He told the ATP website: "For me to win my first Masters [1000] is obviously really exciting.

"Awesome week for us. To win the matches that we did against all top teams that are probably going to play in London... we played really good in the important moments, kept it together well."
