Gerrard: Rangers will aim to take the game to Maribor
The Rangers boss says his side can't just try to "hang on" to their first leg advantage.
Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has said that his side will be sent out looking to attack Maribor and not just "grind out" a result to take them into the Europa League play-offs.
The Ibrox side have a 3-1 advantage from the first leg in Glasgow but face a challenge in Slovenia to progress with Maribor knowing they have to push to get the goals they need.
Gerrard said that he'll be setting up his team to exploit Maribor's need to attack and he believes they can send a message to others that they can be dangerous opponents no matter where they play.
" At some point Maribor are going to have to take some risks in the game and I will pick a team with enough attacking talent to hopefully go and hurt them," he said.
"This is not a case of us coming here to hang on and try to grind through the 90 minutes in order to get over the line.
"This is an opportunity for us to show a team that's moving forward, is growing and has confidence.
"I want my players to play as big players and as a big team tomorrow and show that we're a threat away in Europe."
A 2-0 win against St Mirren on Sunday continued an unbeaten start to the season and Gerrard said that run meant that they would go into a crucial game with confidence.
"We're coming here in good form and with confidence," he said. "We realise we're playing a very difficult opponent that carry a real threat but we have confidence that we've got enough and we're going to put in a performance to get us through.
