Molde boss Solsjkaer eyes more success against Scots
Ole Gunnar Solsjkaer is hoping Molde overcome Hibs after defeating Celtic in 2015.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said Molde are hoping to reenact their display against Celtic from three years ago when Hibs' visit on Thursday.
The former Man Utd striker's first game in charge of the Norwegian outfit saw Molde run out 3-1 victors over Celtic at home.
That result helped the Scandinavians to top a Europa League group containing the Scottish champions, Dutch giants Ajax and Turkish big-spenders Fenerbahce.
Solsjkaer told STV their 2015 success is still talk of the town in Molde and said he is hopeful of picking up another win against Scottish opposition on Thursday.
Asked what the Europa League means to the Scandinivian side, he said: "Great, it's the highlight of the season.
"In 2015 we had Celtic, Ajax and Fenerbahce visiting and we won the group.
"Everyone in the town will speak about it, they will tell you about that period.
"Celtic at home was my first game back after my time in Wales, hopefully we can get a repeat because then we won 3-1."
Molde became the first side to shut out Hibs' vibrant attack when the two sides played out a goalless draw at Easter Road in the first leg.
Despite having home advantage this time around, Solsjkaer is wary of the threat posed by Neil Lennon's side.
"We're at home but we didn't get the away goal, which is vital in these Europa games.
"It's pretty even, last week the two teams cancelled each other out so I'm expecting a very tough game.
"We knew about their counter attacking threats last week and skill going forward so we were a bit tentative.
"When you see their games they have been so attacking and enjoyable to watch."
Molde are expected to welcome back teenage attacker Erling Braut Håland for the Europa League third round second leg tie.
The talented forward has been in talks with German outfit Red Bull Salzburg and has reportedly been watched by Man Utd and Borussia Dortmund scouts in recent weeks.
Solsjkaer said Haland's return would be a big boost for Molde.
He continued: "Hopefully, he is still my player tomorrow, he gives us something defenders don't like to play against
"He's physical, he's quick, about 6'4 and he can finish so hopefully I've him available."
