Rangers attacker Josh Windass is travelling to Wigan for talks after the clubs agreed terms on a transfer, STV understands.

The Championship side appear to have stolen a march on Ipswich, who were interested in signing the player.

It's understood a bid of around £2.5m plus add-ons was agreed, allowing Windass to discuss personal terms.

The 24-year old scored 13 goals last season playing under Pedro Caixinha and Graeme Murty.

He has featured under Steven Gerrard but with a raft of new signings arriving at the club, Windass has been linked with leaving Ibrox this summer.

The player had been included in Rangers' squad for their Europa League qualifier against Maribor but with the English transfer window closing at 5pm, it appears he may have played his last game for the club.
