McGregor confident of repeat performance against Rosenborg
McGregor played in Celtic's 1-0 win over the Norwegian champions in Trondheim last year.
Callum McGregor insists Celtic are confident of Champions League progress ahead of their Rosenborg return.
The Scottish Champions travel to Trondheim on Wednesday night, buoyed by their 3-1 win over the Norwegian side in the first-leg at Celtic Park.
Brendan Rodgers' men have already tasted success in the venue having beaten Rosenborg 1-0 last year courtesy of a late James Forrest goal.
McGregor, who played in that match, said that experience stands them in good stead as they look to book a place in the next round to face AEK Athens.
He said: "Everything is familiar. We've been here before - same hotel, same stadium - so we know what we need to do here to come and get a result.
"Make no mistake, it's a hard process to go through as you play against some good teams, but this group of players and with the manager, we are confident if we prepare properly and play well.
"We had a good game last week so we're comfortable coming here.
"We had a good result last year as well and that breeds confidence in the players to know that we can come and get the job done.
"We need to come here and see the job out, but in these ties you can never rule out an early goal which can change the game.
"So we'll come here and be professional and we've prepared well, and we just have to try and draw on that experience from last year and try to get a positive result.
"We're getting more and more confident with each game.
"We've been through the process for a couple of years now and we can draw on that experience, when the ties are difficult you can dig in and get a result so that experience is massive for us."
Whilst the 25-year-old is confident ahead of the tie, he is also wary of the threat Rosenborg carry, pointing to their early goal at Parkhead as a warning.
He added: "We know how good they are.
"The goal they scored last week from counter attack.
"We know when the ball turns over they are very quick with two fast wingers and good strikers.
"It's something we will need to protect against."
