Transfer Talk: Gers' Waghorn windfall, Lafferty pushes for move
Your daily round of what's happening across Scottish football and beyond.
Rangers could net a cash windfall for one former striker as they come closer to signing another.
Martyn Waghorn, who left the club last year, is apparently closing in on a £7m move to Middlesbrough, and it has been reported that the Ibrox club will receive a cut of around ten per cent of the fee.
That money could help to bring in another frontman who is apparently pushing for a return to the club he left six years ago.
Reports suggest that Kyle Lafferty's agents will today try to broker a deal with Hearts that will pave the way for the striker to make his return to Rangers.
Elsewhere, and Daniel Arzani's reported loan move to Celtic is said to be a step closer after talks were held with Manchester City.
The Melbourne City winger is understood to be set to join the Manchester club and be loaned out to the Scottish champions.
Should he join, Arzani would become Celtic's second summer signing, and whilst there hasn't been a flurry of transfer activity at Parkhead, captain Scott Brown insists he would trust manager Brendan Rodgers "with his life" and backed him to keep improving Celtic regardless of any further player additions.
