Transfer Talk: Gers eye Beevers, Celtic to hold Boyata talks
Your daily round-up of what's happening across Scottish football and beyond.
It's been a week of defensive worry for Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
Jozo Simunovic's red card against Alashkert, and an injury to German stopper Marvin Compper have ruled the pair out of Celtic's clash with Rosenborg on Wednesday.
And another of his central defenders, Dedryck Boyata, has been linked with a move away from Celtic Park after a host of clubs have apparently shown interest in the Belgian following his impressive exploits at the World Cup.
According to reports, Rodgers is planning urgent talks with the 27-year-old this weekend in a bid to convince the Belgian to sign a bumper Parkhead deal.
Across the city, Rangers boss Steven Gerrard's attention is also on his rearguard with The Light Blues rumoured to be interested in Bolton centre-half Mark Beevers.
Beevers is in the final year of his contract and could be a much cheaper option than Millwall defender Jake Cooper, who was the subject of a failed bid from Rangers last week.
Elsewhere, and Aberdeen have apparently failed in a swoop for ex-Hibs striker Eoin Doyle as Derek McInnes now sets his sights on Louis Moult loan deal.
