Rangers have completed the loan signing of Mali international Lassana Coulibaly on loan, subject to international clearance.

The midfielder has joined on a season-loan deal from French side Angers after successfully gaining a work permit. He will be free to face FK Schkupi in the Europa League first qualifying round if Rangers formally add him to their squad before midnight on Wednesday.

"I'm very happy to be here," Coulibaly told Rangers TV. "When my agent said Steven Gerrard was coach, I said 'no problemo' and I was happy to come and join this team."

The central midfielder, who has ten international caps, made 20 appearances for Angers last season.

Coulibaly becomes the eighth signing the club has made this summer as Steven Gerrard revamps the squad.

Allan McGregor, Jamie Murphy, Ovie Ejaria, Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan and Scott Arfield have all joined Rangers this summer.

Roma striker Umar Sadiq is also expected to complete a loan move to Ibrox on Tuesday.
