By his own admission, this season is do-or-die for his career and it looks like Tony Watt will spend it with the Saints.

According to reports, the former Celtic and Hearts attacker is in advanced talks with St Johnstone chiefs over a return to Scottish football.

Watt has been without a club since leaving Belgian outfit OV Louven in February.

The 24-year-old played his last competitive match for Charlton Athletic 11 months ago but will be hopeful of rediscovering his form in Perth.

Elsewhere, the temperatures could well soar both on and off the pitch during Celtic's Alaskhert qualifier on Tuesday.

The Armenian champions have recruited five new players ahead of the Champions League first round tie, one of whom has a reputation as a hothead.

Brazilian attacker Jefferson Reis saw red earlier this year whilst playing for Operaio after he battered a ball boy for excessively celebrating a goal against his team.

Reis is expected to start for Alashkert against the Hoops.
