Everton have reportedly pulled out of a £25m move for Celtic's Kieran Tierney.

The Toffees were apparently keen on luring the left-back down south but have decided to look elsewhere after deciding the fee is too high.

And should Tierney remain at Celtic Park, he could be joined by Scotland teammate John McGinn.

Earlier this week, the Parkhead side saw their offer of around £1.5m quickly knocked back by the Hibs board.

But, according to reports, they've now been told by the Easter Road side that if they double their initial offer, they could bring the midfielder to Glasgow.

Across the city, and Rangers continue to be linked with players south of the border.

Jermaine Defoe has been linked with a loan move to Ibrox as Steven Gerrard looks to bolster his frontline.

If he were to make the move, he could join last year's marquee signing as Bruno Alves says his switch to Parma is far from complete.
