Kenny Miller appointed as new Livingston manager
The former Rangers forward will combine playing and management duties with the Lions.
Kenny Miller has been appointed as Livingston's new player-manager.
The former Rangers striker has agreed a two-year-deal with the newly-promoted Premiership outfit that will see him combine playing duties with his first senior coaching role.
Miller takes charge at Livi after his Light Blues contract expired.
The 38-year-old's time at Rangers ended in acrimonious circumstances after he and club captain Lee Wallace were suspended by the Ibrox club following a dispute with previous boss Graeme Murty.
But he has quickly moved on to pastures new and will replace David Hopkin, who departed Livi after leading the club to back-to-back promotions, in the dugout at the Tony Macaroni Arena.
Miller told Livingston's club website: "There's an existing structure here that is definitely going to aid me and make the transition that bit smoother.
"There are going to be bumps along the road, there's absolutely no doubt about it.
"Until you make the step, it's a step into the unknown.
"I will learn in the job. In a month or two I'll be more familiar with what is required and what the job entails."
"This dressing room we've got has been huge.
"It's a fantastic environment, they've worked really hard in the last few years to create that environment.
"They are a great group of boys who are all in there fighting for their club, each other and their coaches and managers.
"If you've got that, it can take you a long, long way."
Director John Ward was delighted to get the deal done, he said: "We're happy we've finally landed Kenny.
"We've been speaking since Monday, and it's not helped that his agent has been in Colombia with the time difference causing some issues.
"But it's a leap of faith for Kenny coming into management, and a leap of faith for the club too, but we're thrilled to have him here now and he'll be a big influence on the park as well as in the backroom."
Chairman Robert Wilson echoed John's sentiment. "I'm totally delighted Kenny has come after a long week.
"We interviewed him at the start of the week as John said, but it was only yesterday it was all finalised.
"His arrival can only help the club to move forwards now."
