Rangers are closing in on the loan signing of Lassana Coulibaly from FC Angers .

The midfielder is poised to become the latest in a raft of summer signings as new manager Steven Gerrard overhauls the playing squad at Ibrox.

Rangers and Ligue 1 side Angers have reached agreement on the move and the Malian midfielder is set to join Roma striker Umar Sadiq in making the move to Ibrox, pending a work permit.

Coulibaly, like Sadiq, would not meet the automatic criteria for a work permit endorsement, with Rangers needing to request an appeal hearing.

The central midfielder, who has ten international caps, made 20 appearances for Angers last season.

Allan McGregor, Jamie Murphy, Ovie Ejaria, Nikola Katic, Connor Goldson, Jon Flanagan and Scott Arfield have all joined Rangers this summer.
