Kamberi: Lennon was part of the reason for my Hibs return
The striker said he enjoyed working under Lennon and was keen for a reunion.
Florian Kamberi has said he always intended to return to Hibernian after his loan spell, and the chance to work with Neil Lennon was a major factor in his decision.
The Swiss striker completed a permanent move from Grasshoppers earlier this month after scoring nine goals in 14 games on loan at Easter Road last season.
Kamberi revealed that he had built a bond with the club and was looking to build on last season's fourth place finish. He said that knowing that Lennon would be remaining as head coach had helped seal the deal.
"It was my plan to come back," the 23-year old said. "I had a good time with the club, the gaffer and with the team.
"I'm really pleased to be back and hopefully it'll be a better season.
"It's the whole club, I like the success with the gaffer, especially that he is here. I like working with him. He gave me the trust that I need and for me it was clear that I wanted to come back.
"He was a big, big part of it. It was a big decision for me to make but when I know that he's here I'm happy and I was ready to come back."
The forward said that Lennon's winning mentality and the demands on players to keep improving were the key to his appeal.
"It's a good pressure," he said. "It's better to have a coach like this that makes pressure because he wants you to improve.
"He's a winner and he also wants us to be winners. Against Hearts he was right, we played s**t and we lost the chance for second place.
"It's good to have a coach like this who has fire and wants every player, every day to move forward.
"It's a great pleasure to work with Neil Lennon and I think he's great for the club."
