Josh Taylor said he would relish heading to the United States for a "dream" world title fight against Jose Ramirez.

The Tartan Tornado extended his professional record to 13 straight victories by securing a convincing points win over Ukrainian Viktor Postol in a thrilling world title eliminator at the Hydro on Saturday.

Postol proved the toughest test of Taylor's career to date, with the former world champion impressing in the early rounds and stunning the Scot in the seventh.

But the Prestonpans star recovered quickly to take control of proceedings and set up a potential shot at American Jose Ramirez's WBC super lightweight belt in his next fight.

Taylor told STV: "I watched the fight back and it was actually a really good fight to watch.

"I was getting excited watching it myself, if was all-action.

"I had a few obstacles to overcome, he hit me with a good shot in the seventh and I had to change tactics a few times."

He added: "I learnt so much on Saturday in terms of keeping cool and having to dig deep in fights.

"But it was great to be a part of it, it was a huge win for me, it's going to open up so many doors for me.

"I'm now at the part of my career I've been dreaming of since I was kid as my next fight is going to be for a world title."

A bout with former US Olympic star Ramirez would likely take place in New York.

While Ramirez would enjoy home-field advantage, Taylor said he'd be unperturbed by the prospect of heading Stateside as he's always dreamed of fighting in one of boxing's historic venues.

"He's the champion so I'll probably have to go to his back yard," added Taylor. "But that's something I'd love to do, every boxer dreams of fighting in America, at Madison Square Garden or in Las Vegas."
